As part of the summertime fundraising tradition in aid of The Benevolent, senior figures of the drinks industry will shortly be embarking on a cycling challenge in aid of their trade charity.
‘Le Tour d’Estates’ will take place on Sunday 12th August and the organisers are encouraging experienced cyclists who can complete the 103 km route in 4 hours to join the challenge, aiming to raise collectively £20,000 for The Benevolent.
After a healthy breakfast generously provided by Rathfinny, the intrepid peloton will set off at 10.00am from the wine estate located in the South Downs of Sussex, one of England’s exceptional natural landscapes. The route will take them through the stunning Surrey countryside, including the third-highest point on the South Downs, Ditchling Beacon, before a much needed stop at Bolney Wine Estate.
The peloton is expected to cross the finish line back at Rathfinny at 2pm, where the riders will be treated to a sumptuous BBQ and post-ride refreshments.
Chris Porter, CEO of The Benevolent, is encouraging fellow cyclists of the trade to join the challenge: “It’s a serious ride for serious cyclists looking to raise some serious money for The Benevolent! We’ve enlisted the help of some seasoned cyclists from the industry to help with the route. I’d like to thank our Trustees Andrew Shaw and Andrew Hawes, Phil Tuck MW and of course Rathfinny and Bolney Estates for their generous time and help in support for the day and getting ‘Le Tour D’Estates’ up and running. I’m looking forward to a great day!”
