Folowing the success of Wiston Wine Estate’s first Virtual Tasting on 30th April, the Sussex wine estate will be hosting their next virtual tasting this Thursday 21st May at 7pm, live from the Wiston winery.
This ‘Spotlight On’ session will focus on Blanc de Blancs.
The tasting will be hosted by Wiston’s winemaker, Dermot Sugrue. During this tasting, Dermot will take a closer look at the different philosophies behind two of Wiston’s most awarded wines: Vintage and Non-Vintage Blanc de Blancs, and the impact their vineyard’s chalk terroir has on their production.
Aspects covered in the tutored tasting will include: why do Wiston not make Blanc de Blancs every year? How important is terroir? How do they select fruit for each style? Learn more about the history of these wines, through to the current release of Blanc de Blancs NV and vintage Blanc de Blancs 2015, which Dermot will be tasting and discussing in detail during the evening.
To get involved, simply save the date, time and link in your diary, then join Wiston on Thursday live from the winery. Click the link, pour yourself a glass of fizz and sit back.
To taste alongside Dermot, Wiston is offering a special ‘Winemaker’s Spotlight: Blanc de Blancs’ pack for £65.00 including 1 bottle each of Wiston Estate Blanc de Blancs 2015 and Wiston Blanc de Blancs NV (which is extremely limited as they are almost out of stock!). Also, if you’d like to support your local independents, Wiston’s wines are also available nationwide through the following stockists .
Further information on the tasting can also be found on the Wiston Wine Estate website.
