Swirl Band – Stop the sniggering! Oz Clarke in conversation on the wines of Great Britain

#EnglishWineWeek  @WineGB   @ozclarke    @sarahabbottmw

We’re celebrating #EnglishWineWeek with a webinar with the irrepressible Oz Clarke, author of a brilliant new guide to English and Welsh wine. Oz will be talking with Master of Wine Sarah Abbott about his interest in the wines of Great Britain, why he wanted to write this book now, and how England and Wales are emerging as the latest new world of wine. We’ve allowed two hours because, well, if you know Oz you’ll know why. But please don’t worry if you need to dip out earlier. If you would like to toast Oz’s new book, and the growing success of English and Welsh wine, with a glass of our very own finest, you can find retailers via the links below.

Oz Clarke OBE is probably Great Britain’s best-known and most-loved wine communicator. Trained as an actor, he combines exuberant flair with genuine affection for wine, and wine consumers. He wears his deep knowledge, poetic soul and sensitive palate lightly, and has written a number of books on wine that have won both critical acclaim and popular approval. His latest book on the wines of England and Wales reflects his long standing interest in and honest encouragement of the wine makers of Great Britain. Oz is also a Co-Chair of the International Wine Challenge. Sarah Abbott is a Master of Wine, and works alongside Oz as a fellow Co-Chair of the International Wine Challenge. She is working with WineGB to help the producers of Great British Classic Method Sparkling Wine promote their wines in the UK and beyond.

Oz’s book: English Wine: From still to sparkling: The NEWEST New World wine country will be published on 3rd September.
