About the Region

The South East is one of the sunniest parts of England with a vast array of vineyards and wineries leading the way in making world class wines.

The South East wine region prides itself on its:

  • International recognition for producing exceptional wines and regularly winning prestigious awards,
  • Wealth of vineyards with over 70% of all vines in the UK.
  • Diverse range of producers ranging from small, boutique and family run, urban wineries to large scale producers.
  • Climate being the warmest, driest and sunniest  area of the UK, providing excellent conditions for growing grapes.
  • Geology having extensive chalk downs, almost identical to the geology of the Champagne region'

To continue with the community spirit and encourage consumers to enjoy UK wines each week, the South East's Wine Night will include online tastings, videos posted by winemakers, and followers will be encouraged to post photos of themselves enjoying English wines. We have two prizes for the best social media post - six bottles of English wine from the South East!
