The Wine School of Cheshire Saturday Wine School
Saturday, June 18 @ 12:30 pm - 5:00 pm£150
We are proud members of Wines of Great Britain and both English Wine Week and Welsh Wine Week are two of the highlights of our annual wine school calendar! There are around 800 vineyards producing quality wines around England, the most northerly being in Yorkshire. Our cooler climate produces some stunning wines higher in acidity which makes them perfect for food pairing.
Join us for an afternoon of perfectly balanced wine education and enjoyment together with a four course lunch with matched wines in The Tasting Room in Godstall Lane: our very own home of all things wine in the heart of Chester city centre, just moments from Chester Cathedral and The Rows.
Discover some amazing wines from all around England: a four course lunch is included to enjoy food and wine pairing to the full. The principal courses are provided by Chester institution and our amazing neighbour, Dutton’s. Then enjoy our bespoke selection of English artisan cheeses from acclaimed cheesemonger Paxton and Whitfield paired with our final red wines. There are 9 different wines to look forward to and so many fun facts to pick up during the afternoon too!
We are proud to work in partnership with Riedel, the world’s finest wine glass manufacturer and you will enjoy your wines at this event with Riedel Performance varietal specific crystal glassware. Find out more about Riedel here.
Our Saturday Wine Schools feature balanced and enjoyable wine education together with food and wine pairing – there are 9 different wines to enjoy over the afternoon. We’ll begin with a glass of The Gusbourne Estate Brut Reserve to welcome you to The Tasting Room and you’ll learn a little more about Gusbourne and Wines of Great Britain. Discover some fantastic wines to enjoy without food before lunch and as we enjoy lunch there’s a new exciting wine to savour with each course. Find our more about different wine regions within England, the different wine styles and principal grape varieties as well as more about winemaking and pick up some great tips for choosing wines to buy for home as well as ordering in a restaurant.
Look forward to a great selection of wines, all of which will be sourced from our favourite local and specialist online retailers and represent excellent value for money. Of course we don’t sell any wine at our events so your bespoke wine tasting notes book is there for you to use during the day and take home with you: a handy reference should you wish to visit any of the wine stores we’ve used at a later date.
