Chair – Stephen Skelton - WineGB Viticulture Working Group

Pruning Question Time is an opportunity for both vineyard owners and for those thinking of setting up vineyards to ask a panel of experts all about pruning, training and trellising. Such topics as vine spacing, vine density, pruning types and styles, trellising and the different options for trellising, can all be covered – its up to participants to ask the questions. The expert panel will be made up of James Dodson, founder of VineWorks, one of the leading vineyard contractors in Britain, Greg Dunn, Head of the Wine Department at Plumpton College, and Stephen Skelton MW, Chair of the WineGB Viticulture Working Group.
We want members/participants to send in their questions beforehand, with photos if necessary - please submit here

Despite the real challenges that so many businesses will be facing in the current climate, there has never been a more important time to think about your workforce, whether you are looking to bring innovative ideas to your organisation by employing a new member of staff, wish to up-skill your existing workforce to achieve new business expectations or plan for your future needs. WineGB are pleased to welcome Plumpton College, UK Centre of Excellence for education, training and research to speak about how modern apprenticeships are a productive and cost effective way of ensuring that you have that skilled workforce for your immediate and future business requirements. This webinar will cover everything from the basics of ‘what is an apprenticeship’ and ‘financial incentives available for employers’ to ‘employer obligations and requirements’ and ‘apprentice recruitment support’ along with more detailed information about the UK’s only nationally delivered Viticulture apprenticeship programme.
This is an invaluable opportunity for UK vineyards.
