Bardingley Vineyard was first planted in the late 1970s and continued in production for some years before being abandoned to the dog roses….! The current owners purchased the property – a 13th century Wealden Hall House – in 2005 and took several years renovating the vineyard which had been totally neglected; some vines had amazingly survived those years of neglect, and new vines were planted, in particular Pinot Noir and Rondo. The first commercial wine was a still rose. Since then sparkling has been the predominant wine but it is hoped to revert to a still wine very soon. The vineyard is located below the sandstone ridge which crosses Kent and benefits from its own micro-climate. Bardingley is not open to the public.
