The Gallivant has been an avid and passionate supporter of English wine since The Gallivant opened its
doors in 2016.

Today it has MORE ENGLISH WINES ON ITS LIST THAN ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD
– 28 currently, from 12 English wine estates.

Harry Cragoe, owner of the Gallivant, said “I am delighted that we have been asked to support the English Wine
Awards this year and so excited about the future for the industry. However it saddens me that very few UK restaurants
list more than a couple of English wines as the quality is now invariably incredible and guests really engage with the
story. As our public becomes more aware of sustainability and environment, English wines seem to be an even more
logical choice.”

In the Autumn the Gallivant will be hosting tasting tutorials for sommeliers where leading UK sommeliers
can get the chance to meet the growers and viticulturists whilst sampling their wines. The hope is that
education will begin to break down preconceptions of inferior quality and prejudices. Last year it hosted a
Harvest Supper for all the wine estates and hopes to repeat this in 2019.
